In Luke 18:16, Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” The Vision for our Children’s Ministry is to create a safe and secure space where Biblical truths are explained and where kids can ask questions and explore the Bible through games, art, and stories.
Our mission is to be a ministry for our families as a whole. While our events and classroom environments are created with the children in mind, we want to be a ministry that helps the family as a whole grow closer to God.
Children’s Ministry
We welcome all children ages 1 (and walking) to 5th grade into our classroom. Each Sunday, following the worship service, we release the kids to their classroom to explore and learn from God's Word. Our younger kids, ages 1 - K, are encouraged to color a Bible-centric coloring page and engage in conversation. Our goal is to offer free play mixed with foundational Biblical principles.
Our older kids, 1st grade - 5th grade, are learning foundational Biblical skills, including how to pray, how to find chapters and verses in the Bible, what the books of the Bible are, and what genre each book belongs to. We also discuss how to speak kindly and respectfully to those we may not agree with. They are encouraged to follow along with the Bible readings, participate in discussion questions, and build the habit of bringing their Bibles to church each Sunday. This class may have a wide age range, but that's what makes it fun! Hands-on story times and activities keep the kiddos engaged and create lasting memories. Our goal is to create a safe space for our children to openly ask questions about God and discover how amazing He is. We want your kid(s) to graduate from this ministry with a Biblical foundation that allows them to enter any space and feel confident finding verses in the Bible, discussing Biblical topics, and engaging in adult services.
Nurture Room - ALL AGES
Families are invited to take advantage of our Nurture Room, which is located off the entryway of the Sanctuary. Though the furniture, toys, and decor suggest this room is for tiny babies only, we assure you it is for all ages. This room is perfect for restless kids who need space to play, nursing moms, and quick diaper changes. The room is equipped with chairs for parents/caregivers, infant - 3 year old toys, and a changing table. The room is also equipped with speakers to hear the service whilst nurturing your sweet blessings.
Our Teachers:
All teaching is currently done by our wonderful ministry leader, Caroline. She prioritizes safety, prayer, personal Bible time, and our families. With many years of experience, she ensures each child gets nurtured in a way that best fits them. She regularly takes time to pray for our children and their families.
Your Child's Safety is of utmost importance to us, and it is for this reason that we have the following procedures in place.
All Children's Ministry teachers, assistants, youth volunteers, and leaders, 18 years and older, undergo a background check.
The majority of our teachers are CPR and First-Aid certified.
In the spirit of health and safety, we encourage families to use good judgment of their child(ren)’s health and ask that you refrain from dropping them off to class if they are ill.
